What is the difference between Event Catering, Food Service and Child Nutrition?

Freshwise Catering offers three distinct services: Event Catering, Food Service and Child Nutrition. Event Catering is available for one-time events, such as private parties, weddings, galas and fundraisers. Catering can serve 20 to 500 people. Food Service denotes providing contracted meals to institutions such as day care programs, charter or private schools and community centers. Meals are delivered and served based upon a contract. Child Nutrition refers both to general nutrition information and programs such as Kids Cafe and Summer Meals. Kids Cafe is one of the largest after-school meal service programs in the nation that provides free nutritious meals to hungry children. If you have any further questions, please e-mail Freshwise.

Is food served by Freshwise Catering donated food from Foodlink?

No. All food served by Freshwise Event Catering is purchased food. Many of the fresh fruits and vegetables served by Freshwise Catering come from Freshlink Farms.

What is Foodlink?

Foodlink is a non-profit America's Second Harvest regional food bank that rescues and redistributes food that would otherwise go to waste from food manufacturers, farmers and retailers to a network of over 550 human service programs in a 10-county area. Foodlink also purchases food that is difficult to get donated, and is a central USDA distributor for emergency programs such as soup kitchens, food pantries and emergency shelters. Last year alone, Foodlink redistributed over 7.5 million pounds of food in our area.

What is Freshlink Farms?

Freshlink Farms, a subsidiary of Foodlink, is a local hydroponic greenhouse in Penfield, NY. Freshlink provides the high quality pesticide-free greens year round, which increase access to nutritious food in Rochester and the surrounding ten-county area.
